Kokopelli's Jewel
Jewl - right side
Service Sire - Luc's Capt. Kirk
Bred to champion Gray
Jewel joined our little family a couple of years ago. She was a proven mom already with a couple of gorgeous female cria to her credit and she has a plethora of gray genetics in her background including The Silversmith. In the past, when bred to gray, Jewel gets it right and her crias have been beautiful rose gray.
We didn’t have any gray males to breed Jewel to when we got her so we bred her to Navigator. We’ve been very happy with Navigator’s cria and thought it would be a good match for Jewel. We anticipated that he would add density to Jewel’s fleece which is fine and very bright but is not very dense. Well, in September ‘09, Jewel gave birth to another girl. We have named her Nymphadora. The combination of his genetics and Jewel’s has proved to be a winner. Nymphadora has been robust and vigorous from the moment she hit the ground. Her conformation is excellent. Her fleece is crimpy, soft and very dense. And Jewel has proved herself to be just what we wanted in a dam – easily bred, quick and easy births, a ton of milk and babies that thrive.
Jewel has been bred to our new herdsire, Silver Gray Luc’s Captain Kirk. This pairing should bring out the best in Jewel and we’re betting on a gorgeous cria for 2011. Jewel hasn't been confirmed pregnant yet but so far when we spit checked her after breeding - she was adamant about rejecting the male (twice).
Jewel's sale price includes a rebreeding which you can use for her or any other female from your herd. As always, you can expect our full ranch guarantees and support.

Kirk is a wonderful dark silver gray male. Kirk's fleece exhibits a tight, high frequency crimp from tip to base and is uniform throughout his blanket. He repeatedly receives comments on his superb fineness and handle. His sire is the famous Dom Lucilio and his grandsire is Pperuvian Royal Fawn. Royal Fawn is the only light fawn Accoyo ever exported from Don Julio Barreda's herd. 'According to Julio Barreda, Royal Fawn ranked as one of the best that he had ever produced at Estancia Accoyo in Peru.' Dom Lucilio has had 286 cria registered; only 9 are silver gray. It is a rare opportunity to have these genetics in Gray. What a great opportunity to add these great genetics to your herd. Both Dom Luclio and Peruvian Royal Fawn have $5,000 breeding fees.
