A solid medium brown with such fineness is incredible. He has a great phenotype and that adorable, full-fleeced, teddy bear face.

In his first show he was in a medium brown yearling class of ten at only 14 months. He is a slow grower, so he was still a little small for his age, but the conformation and presence was there!

Judge Kevin O’Leary said he had the softest handle in the class, just needed to mature a bit. Based on the size of the class, the stiff competition, and his size, I was very pleased to take home the yellow ribbon.

Possible herdsire or a sure bet for an AWESOME fiber male!

Merit is a full Peruvian, 1/4 Accoyo,incredible male! Massive bone, superior conformation with no faults what-so-ever, very large testicles, beautiful typey head with an extremely dense top knot, and total leg coverage- front and back! He also has dark skin pigment and black toesnails. His fleece is dense and soft, with a wonderful handle and an incredibly long 5 inch staple length. For 2005, his fiber weighed in at 10lbs, 5oz.(first and seconds only) Although Merit is fawn, he does sport a tiny maroon(not brown) spot on his side...about 1/4 the size of a dime which might explain why we're getting such rich color in his progeny. Merit's bite couldn't be more perfect, and to this date has never needed to be trimmed. His gentle, curious temperment make him a joy to be around. We are beyond thrilled with what Merit has produced so far. The cria pictures on the right are Merit's baby girls. He's been allowing the color of the dam to come through most of the time.
