828970 White What can you say about Hemingway's Bogart other than he is renowned, WAS a one of a kind potent herdsire. Bogie's EPDs rival the best in the world. Bogart could challenge any young stud head to head for histogram results. After 18 years, his longevity is exemplary with his 2019 histogram at 22 AFD and an SD of 4.0 and CV of 17. Bogart is the direct descendant and on of Sire MSA Hemingway G171.
We are very proud to have added this Hemingway son, to our small but genetically mighty white alpacas. Bogie is renowned for his remarkable, and extremely rare, combination of flawless fine fleece, genetic superiority and flawless fineness sustained thus far to the end of his second decade. He passed all this fleece trait production to his offspring.
Compare Bogie to any male alpaca in AOA's EPD database and you will find he is superior to over 99% of all other for longevity of fineness and uniformity. Not only is Bogie superior, but because of his longevity as a herdsire, his accuracy values for each EPD trait is the highest in the database. This insures for you the customer, will be getting the improvement you expect. To go along with his outstanding EPDs, his follicle biopsy results insures density in his offspring. At age 12 he carries a DENSITY OF 60.4/MM, SECONDARY TO PRIMARY RATION OF 10.8:1 AND MEAN SECONDARY FIBER DIAMETER OF 21 AND STANDARD DEVIATION OF 2.5. Imagine what he was like at 2 years of age.
BOGART IS OFFICIALLY RETIRED. IT IS TOO UNCOMFORTABLE TO BREED. HE HAS BEEN SUCH A SPECIAL ALPACA TO DAVE AND I. WE WISH WE COULD CLONE HIM.
Dam: Summer Solstice of Renaissance Ridge ARI#
30597815 White Summer was purchased to bring some density to our foundation. Summer is a solid production dam who any breeder could get many quality alpacas in the years to come. This sale is an exceptional value for any buyer. If purchased she will come with a breed to Man. The breeding she comes with is worth the this price alone.
We have three daughters of Summer who we are using for our foundation breeding program. Let summer start to bring density and fineness to your breeding program. She is an easy breeder, great mother and gives birth with ease. She will feed any cria, which is really an incredible asset, an attribute difficult to find in the alpaca.
If you look at Summer's histogram at age 10 it quite impressive, she has an AFD of 23 but her SD is still below 4 at 3.9 microns. Even more amazing is her CV is only 16. Those values indicate she is very valuable as a breeding dam.
Summer's EPDs are more than respectable. Summer is above the national ranking in a number trait values. In the world of EPD breeding she will improve her cria fiber traits 6 of the 9 fiber character traits above the national herd norm by 75% at least in those 6 traits. Now, bred to one of our gifted EPD studs, she will really improve her offspring. Start to integrate EPD superiority into your herd with Summer and her cria.
Description
River's Sahara had our first Majestic's Man cria. He is one big bundle of fiber, from the tip of his nose to tip of his toes. So much fiber. Sahara is a farm favorite. She has an elite fleece, she has an ideal phenotype and coming from Hemingway's Bogart's genetics she will have the Histogram and E.P.D. values to match the rest. Bogart gives all his progeny improved fleece, genetics, and phenotype. Bogie also gave Sahara what he is truly known for, and that is longevity of fineness.
River’s Sahara brings world class fineness on her top side and density on the bottom. Blending quality genetics directed toward optimum fleece character in every trait. Sahara’s fineness genetics are from grand sire Peruvian Hemingway and sire Hemingway’s Bogart. Sahara’s service sire is Majestic’s A Man Among Men, son of the 2016 Herd sire of the Year, Jeremiah’s Peruvian Jumanji, and full brother to Majestic’s A Wanted Man, top seller at the 2016 Futurity Auction. Majestic' s“Man”, as we call him, is a multi-champion in his own right, with five color championships, including 2017 AOA Nationals, 2nd only to the supreme champion of that year. This breeding pair brought forth a cria with ideal fleece character. Hemingway’s Bogart’s fleece values at age 18 is AFD of 22 microns, with a SD of 4.0 and CV of 18. Sahara also has very respectable EPD trait values. Seven EPD trait categories are in the top 10 percent, AFD, SDAFD, SF, %F>30, %M, MC & SDMC.
2017 Histogram Values for Sahara are: AFD 18.4, SD 3.5, CV 19.4, %F>30 0.8%. We took Bogart's fleece he produced at age 16 to the the Snow Diamond Auction and the most common response was "Wow, he is really 16?" Bogie's fleece amazed everyone, he is still fine, uniform, and has a luxurious handle. His only age related fault was staple length. Sahara's EPD values are better than 75% in nearly every trait for every animal in the database for 2017, with better than 90% for a majority of the fleece traits.
Sahara is a big girl with lots of bone. She has an ideal phenotype. All of which should make for easy birthing. Her dam Summer as well as all our Bogie girls, have had many cria, producing good sized cria and lots of nourishment.
Sahara's superior lineage is evident in her more than respectable 2017 E.P.D. values.
