Sire: A and A & MFI Quixotic ARI#
32166620 Medium Silver Grey We are proud to own and open up this incredible herdsire for a limited number of breedings.
Quixotic’s dam, Starry Night’s Quetzal, was purchased at the prestigious 2008 All American Alpaca Futurity. To say that this dam is impressive is an understatement. She was a gorgeous dark silver grey female with incredible fleece character and rare density. Quixotic’s dam was bred to Majestic Peruvian Jeremiah the first year and the result was the famous multiple champion A & A and MFI Quatrain purchased by Coffee Pot, Whistler’s Glen, Applewood Farm and Tangled Oaks at the 2010 Breeders Choice Auction. The second year she was bred Jeremiah’s paternal brother MFI Peruvian Formula 1, co-owned by Magical Farms and Flying Pony Alpacas and the result was A and A & MFI Quixotic!!
Quixotic is phenotypically gorgeous and his fleece is outstanding. As a very young juvenile his fleece won First Place and Grey Male Color Champion at the 2011 AOBA National Fleece Show…an amazing accomplishment for a juvenile grey fleece. Quixotic's crias hit the ground for us starting in 2015 and we have been thrilled at what he is adding to our program here! Several of his offspring have been out and about in the showring and have earned top awards at several highly competitive shows, earning both champions and Judges’ Choice awards. Cloverleaf Alpacas Man of Steel is just one example of the quality we are seeing in Quixotic’s offspring and he is a true standout in the greys, earning top awards at every show he is in!
Quixotic's crias have continued to wow and impress even the most discriminating buyers and breeders...and judges! His crias are outstandings!
Dam: MFI Maid of Sugar ARI#
32445794 True Black Congrats to Macpaca Alpacas in Idaho for their purchase of Maid!! This was a though sale for us to part with.... This champion making proven female with a breeding to Tres Equis on board.... Ouch!!
We zeroed right in on this girl during one of MFI's last auctions for a specific reason, to make an immediate impact on our gray breeding program. And like clockwork, Sugar has given us two gray cria and is on her way to a third. KCF Mad Max is a light rose gray Champion and multiple ribbon winner for us; and his little sister, Maid of Honor, will hit the show string in 2018. Next for Sugar is a cria out of our recent acquisition, TVA Tres Equis, the Rose Gray super Stud that just happens to be the sire of the 2109 AOA National gray female fleece Color Champion!! It's not the first champion offspring for Tres either. Tres's offspring are tearing up the shows with championship after championship!! Check him out!!
Description
Our Mad Max is quite the strange bird. We have been doing this for 25+ years and this fleece and phenotype merge is a first for us. Here we have an indefinite fawn (gray...?) with a tuxedo and mask (gray....?) and blue chips in his eyes (gray....?) out of a gray super star stud (gray....?) and a bay black mom with a gray spot (gray....?).
Wait until you get a load of this character. Better yet, wait until you see his fleece, it's a Wowser. We were a bit self conscious showing him, but we bit the bullet. We had him judge's checked at just about every show to make sure they have him where they want him that weekend, and guess what; he's shown in rose gray 8X and fawn 3X.... go figure. We are saying this boy is Rose Gray, and sticking to it!!
His genetics are completely stacked; I could type until my two fingertips bled without covering all the names adequately. But the real deal is his fleece. Max always has the finest fleece in his class, and for his age, I would put him up against any alpaca regardless of color. Every judge has remarked how fine, uniform, and consistent his fleece is; and it is everywhere. We can’t wait to give him a try with some some of our gray producers in spring 2019!! Does anyone want to join us....?
