Most importantly a long winning show record for Man and his offspring for both fleece and halter. Man's show record as a juvenile is unmatched, starting with the 2016 Futurity and ending with being in the running for Supreme Champion at the 2017 AOA Nationals.
Majestic's Man's fleece density is likely in the top 100 alpacas in the AOA database. His 2022 fleece weighed in at 14.5 pounds. This trait of density is definitely passed on to his offspring. His fleece weight EPD is 1.25%. Now, having had many offspring of Man's in my herd, I can assure anyone interested in breeding that he will produce density in all his cria. One of his offspring, Rockstar's Material Girl took all the top fleece honors at the Gold Country Gathering in 2021.
Majestic's Man's fiber and phenotype are all Jumanji. The only difference is his fiber is light, but don't let the light fiber shy you away, there is ample color in his background. Man has been genetically color tested and those results are available upon request. During his show career, every time his fleece was shown it was classified as white, in halter beige.
Man's breeder Faye Farley of Majestic Meadows describes Man Among Men as having a "Breathtaking fleece and breathtaking phenotype". "An excellent combination for sure!" All you have to do is look at this fiber and you know he was destined for greatness. AOA agrees by giving Man a first place in white male juvenile fleece in 2016 AOA National Fleece show. The most striking quality is his uniformity. We purchased him on the spot and then he went into the show ring at six months. He won first for light and color champion in a very large 2016 field of alpacas.
Dam: Bogart's River Destony ARI#
35038627 White Destony is a beautiful girl who is out of one of three foundation dams that are at the core of our breeding program. She is out of one of the nation's renowned stud, Hemingway's Bogart. This is probably the most beautiful female cria we have seen him produce.
We were so pleased with her EPDs. She is in the top rankings in 7 out of 8 traits. .
Destony's sire, MSA Heminway's Bogart, has produced some of the finest alpacas in our breeding program. Bogart, was a product of the last US imported alpacas. He quickly made a name for himself. That fine fiber, longevity of fineness and EPDs carry through to his offspring regardless of the dam. Bogart has never gone over 22 micron in his19 years. lifetime He was proven to be one of the US’s most persistently fine herdsires. Longevity of fineness is a characteristic we see over and over in his offspring.
Destony will be bred with our new herd sire Snow Diamond Chateau Cerise. She is a great nurturing mother who is willing to nurse other crias. We actually have to keep her separate or she allow stablemates crias to nurse. She has to date given birth with ease. Destony would make any program a foundation dam. Rocket Man is beautiful fleeced male cria out of Majestic's A Man Among Men and one of our prized dams, Destony, who is out of Renaissance Ridge's Juliette. Destony's lineage is El Nino and then Derwydd's Manchu. We have several females out of Juliette and all are in our foundation line of females. Rocket Man is true to his father's genetics and has fleece that is bright, lustrous and dense. His AFD by observation at this young age in below 15 microns, with only a rare guard hair. Rocket will certainly have a low SD given his father's is below 3.0. Rocket's EPD profile is bound to be superior in all traits. If you put dam and sire into AOA's estimator you can get a very accurate profile of what his EPDs will look like.
Rocket Man has Hemingway's 2nd generation genetics from dam, Destony. Bogart stamps all of his offspring with density, low amplitude tight crimp, and fine fine fiber that will stay fine for many years. Bogart at age 18 is still at 22 microns, SD of 4.0 and CV of 18. This is simply amazing stats. The represents genuine longevity. Another wonderful thing about Bogart's genetics is that all his cria repeat this fiber quality and pass this along to their offspring.
