35186175 White Temptress (Tempi) is our only home-grown dam left out of Hemingway's Bogart and for that reason will stay a breeder here at Colusa Riverside Ranch. Bogart's genetics in this dam are so significant due to the fact his fineness and longevity of fineness carries through to his all his offspring. She has density of fiber that is outstanding. Tempi has sheared 8 pounds of fleece in 2020, 9.5 in 2021 and 7.0 pounds in 2023, all the while pregnant and nursing. Tempi's EPD for fiber weight is 10%. No EPDs over 25%. What I love about Tempi's EPDs is that every trait has good EPD values including staple length at 25%. She has so much genetic potential, more importantly, she is an amazing mother who will feed everyone else's crias . On her dam's side is the Accoyo line of El Nino. Tempi has good face coverage; she is a great proven mom. She comes from a long line of Dam's who will nurse other's crias.
Tempi's fleece is also very fine and very uniform. All foundation dams out of Hemingway's Bogart on our farm are going to be fine, uniform and dense. Her dam is Capulet, is extremely dense. Her Mom Capulet sheared 9 pounds of fleece in 2021. Last year Temp was bred to Snowmass Cold Cash and had an amazing female cria who should prove to be a showstopper. There will be no doubt Tempi's cria will carry significant fleece fineness, uniformity, and density. Cold Cash has 5 traits in the 1% ranking. Tempi is Mother to Overture's Graceland who placed 3rd in both walking fleece and halter at nationals in 2023.
Description
Warrior is a junior herd sire out of one of our best foundation dam's Temptress. He is one handsome juvenile who should do well on the show circuit for 2020. Snowmass Seventh Samuri's fleece on first sight told me he was who I wanted to breed to Temptress. It turned out to be an excellent choice. Warrior phenotype is ideal, with substance of bone and fiber very much like his fathers. His fiber coverage is substantial. On visual evaluation of his fiber his juvenile fleece fineness is grade 1, his SL at six months growth is 3.5 inches, rare guard hairs and primary to secondary fibers AFD is very close. Like his sire, he has large distinct bundles with broad crimp.
Warriors grandmother, Juliette is one of our most prolific foundation dam for which much of our breeding program has foundation offspring. Probably the best of those offspring is Temptress, Warrior's dam. Warrior has a beautiful head and significant facial coverage. I have included below what his EPDs are expected according to AOA EPD estimator program.
