Sire: Snowmass Best in Velvet ARI#
32789669 Dark Fawn Majestic Meadows is proud to present Snowmass Best in Velvet to its herdsire row! Velvet is the offspring of Snowmass Velvet Touche, Futurity Herdsire of the Year, now owned by Happy Hounds Alpacas.
Best in Velvet is another multiple champion that Majestic is proud to have on their stud row. We have only had one offspring out of him so far and she just took 1st and Reserve Champion at just over 7 months old in her first show. His offspring also just won Get of Sire at the 2018 Buckeye Show. We plan on many more crias in 2018 and 2019 as we are very pleased with the results we are seeing to date. His pedigree is a Who's Who in the Snowmass alpaca herd including Legacy Gold, Andean Bronze, Snowmass XXXtreme, Snowmass Elite, Don Julio, Hemingway, Quechua, and Royal Rose, just to name a few. Expect great things from this herdsire as you make your breeding decisions, we know we are!
LLC.
Co-Owned with Coffee Pot Farm, Charles and Kathie Thompson!
Dam: KCF Isla Saona ARI#
32251852 Light Brown Isla is one of those special girls that defines your breeding program and is the result of real planning on Lori's part. When we first saw Isla's Dam, Isis; we knew we had to have her to breed to our Captain Jack Sparrow. They were the perfect match and we would repeat the breeding numberous times over the next several years.
Although not for sale at the moment, we do want you to know what we are working on for the future - and this is the future!
More to come.......Update: Isla's fleece continues her legacy in 2014. Two more Championships, including the Championship at the 2014 World Fleece Show!
Update, 2 more Reserve Championships in 2015 Fleece Shows....
Update, Color Champion Brown Fleece at the 2016 MAPACA Jubilee Fleece Show - AT THE AGE OF 5!!!!
After many trials and tribulations, Isla has finally given us a cria. This young boy was worth the wait we believe. Denali was born while we were away in Alaska visiting the splendor of the former Mt. McKinley. Although he was off to a rough start, we are please to say that he has come around and is looking quite nice. Please check out KCF Denali's page to see his achievements and you will see that our first impressions were spot on - this boy is a star!!
Isla has now been rebred to our STF Skywalker for a summer of 2019 baby and we are already looking forward to another jawdropper.... Update - boy did we get it!! The light fawn boy just glows!! His name is KCF Obi Wan and he sold off the farm rather quickly....
Isla's 2020 cria from our Snowmass Best in Velvet breeding is now on the farm, and gulp...., we are going with KCF Crushed Velvet as his name. Because, indeed, Velvet crushed it on this combo. Out of the box, Crushed has won his first few banners is is on his way to a well deserved role as a top herdsire either here at KCF or your place....
Description
Well, we knew we had a name for this young boy after just a day or so when in conversation the phrase "Velvet Crushed it this time!!'" came out pretty easily. Sometimes you cross these multiple champion pairs and it really works out like it's supposed to, this is one of those times....
This young boy is off to a roaring start with his fleece, his conformation, his personality, and is just going to be the total package. At his first show, the judges agreed with our suppositions and he was able to bring home 2 banners for us out of his 3 showings. And he has continued to impress at every show thereafter. This is no surprise for us. The lineage of this boy is just amazing on both sides. The sire, Snowmass Best in Velvet, is a Futurity Champion that absolutely proven to be prepotent with champion after champion for years. And his Dam, KCF Isla Saona, is our 11 time champion brown girl from lines with dozens of championships as well. 3 of 4 of Isla's offspring have been spectacular, and all those are champions. This boy has got the goods in spades....
After we get him with a few girls of ours this spring, we will be accepting 5 breedings in 2023 at $1500. Like I mentioned, "he's only headed up from there"....
Update 9/22: Crushed Velvet has gone on to win an additional 5 banners (for a total of 7 during his show career). We will consider a sale (as we have his genetics solidly covered), but serious inquires only please.
Thank you so much to Timm and Helen of Sugartown Farms Alpacas in Ellicottville, NY for your acquisition of Crushed!! We know he will fit right in with your outstanding breeding program!!!!
