Sire: Cheveyo ARI#
20035181 Medium Fawn Cheveyo is well balanced and robust. His fleece is dense and buttery soft. It has great consistency as shown by spin fineness that is less than his micron count. His fleece at 8 years old is still 21.5 microns with a comfort factor of 94.8%.with an above average curve of 49.3 deg/mm.
Cheveyo is the son of Christopher B and a Canadian dam. He will bring CANADIAN GENETICS to your herd.
Cheveyo started out his show career winning FIRST PLACE and RESERVE COLOR CHAMPION as a juvenile at the California Classic. To date he has 3-Reserve Color Champion Ribbons, 4-First place and a Second place.
Dam: Followill Lapoudre _deleted_12/11/2019 11:10:40 PM ARI#
826400 White, Medium Fawn Don't let Lapoudre's age or appearance fool you! This dam produces award winning cria, she is worth every bit of her price. Followill Lapoudre is a wonderful dam with 12 healthy cria to her worth as a dam, and all but one were females, all were solid colors. The latest 2013 & 2014 also are female. LaPoudre's cria are significantly improved with a good sire pairing. Poudre gives birth with ease, provides ample milk, and is a great mother. Poudres 2011 and 2010 crias was 3rd & 4th place ribbon winners in fawn & white juvenile female halter class in Gold Country Alpaca Show. At Gold Country 2014 her daughter took 1st in bred & owned. The most beneficial trait she provides in every cria is staple length. If you know EPDs, Poudre's EPD for staple length is plus 4.278, meaning she will put an extra 3 to 4 inches of fiber on her crias. Our offspring by her have born out this genetic prediction outcome with every offspring.
LaPoudre's is the grand dam of farm with a histogram for 14 years of age is really quite good as are her EPDs for SL. All her offspring we have, have strikingly good staple length. All offspring have been solid color, 1 white and 3 fawns. Poudre has lots of Snowmass in her lineage. It comes out in her crias with their fineness of fiber. And, did I tell you she has had nearly all girls, what a record. She is still incredibly healthy with more years of production. The price is right for this valuable production dam. We must make room for our 2018 foundation females to be bred. Poudre has served us well but can now serve your ranch for several years to come. Her physical health is very good, and she does not look or act like a 19 year old alpaca. She maintains her body weight even with a cria on the ground. She is a great mom, gives birth easily and provides plenty of milk. Poudre's most recent 2013 cria has a histogram AFD of 15 microns. She was paired with Prophecy to make that kind of improvement. Agree to buy Poudre and if you would like her bred we will give you a screaming deal on a stud fee back to Prophecy.
EPDs: For 2018 are located under the EPD icon above.
Description
We have no plans to breed Dream Catcher, so we are selling her at a rock bottom price. She does not fit into our breeding program right now. There is nothing wrong with the dam, she is healthy, in fact a little too healthy. She is amazingly friendly. Dream has good fiber, and lots of it. If you want a fiber animal she truly fits that bill. Or, if you would like a pet she also fits that requirement. She is extremely friendly, she is always the first to come running to you in the pasture. She is definitely easy to halter and handle. Ideal girl for a backyard pet, or weed eater. She acts as the sentry for her stable mates.
Dream Catcher histogram is quite respectable. Her AFD at age 3 is 19 microns and Staple length is greater than 100 mm. Her price reflects the fact that she has had allergic dermatitis of the skin on her abdomen and chest. After treatment the problem has resolved but she retains some scarring on her skin. The skin appearance is not visible upon inspection due to it's location. She is otherwise healthy and ready to put into service. The problem will have no influence on her ability to breed, nurse and produce quality offspring as a breeding dam, it's only influence is on her sale's price. We at Colusa Riverside, only sell perfect animals for our higher prices, and we are always honest about what you are buying from us.
Dream Catcher's EPDs are better than the national herd mean values. If you decide to breed her she will improve fiber and will not detract from a herdsire with better EPDs. In other words bred to an EPD gifted sire she will not compromise those EPDs in the offspring with her EPD values. Dream Catcher is especially good in increasing fiber weight and staple length. If you have concerns a vet clearance may alleviate any trepidation. Her mother has been breeding for many years and put out only health crias with difficulty in birthing or nursing.
Dream Catcher's blanket has good density, architecture and bundling. Her conformation has no faults and her bite is perfect. Her mother LaPoudre has amazing staple length, and the EPD to carry on that staple length in her progeny Dream Catcher. We would consider a breeding if you are seriously interested at her current price.
