KCF Isla Saona
Huacaya, Bred (Female), Proven | Light Brown
ARI# 32251852, D.O.B. 6/14/2011, Full Peruvian
Sire: Captain Jack Sparrow ARI#
1000320 Medium Fawn Captain Jack Sparrow is one of our signature herdsires. Captain Jack is a captivating fawn male with an elite fleece that is to die for. Shown three times as a juvenile; with three first place wins, a Color Championship, and a Reserve Color Championship to kick off his show career, this big boy was off to a great start. Captain Jack has left judges breathless, but certainly not speechless upon opening his fleece. Captain Jack is a Peruvian Dakotia son (Bueno) and from our exceptional fawn foundation female Peruvian Accent (Accoyo Leon). Dakotia is of course no longer available due to the unfortunate Land-O-Lakes feed poisoning incident.
Captain Jack has everything that you are looking for in a herdsire – perfect conformation, tremendous fleece coverage, a soft handle with high frequency and high amplitude crimp, and a particularly dense fleece that is aging well. He is also throwing colors across the board; literally from white to black and gray.
Captain Jack is Co-Owned with Peterson Creek Ranch.
Dam: WGA Isis by Nexxus ARI#
31400077 Light Fawn Trust me, this girl had the name way before the Looney's in the middle east did. She is named after the revered Egyptian Goddess.
Isis is the dam of Isidoro, Isla Saona, INXS, Stryker, KCF Jackpot, KCF Heiress, and now KCF Mudslide!! This crew of prepotent alpacas have 37 championships between them - so far. And with another breeding to our 15 X Champion CCNF Dominion on board for 2023, I would say you have a pretty good idea what's coming next....
Now retiring to the back 40 to live out her days, Isis is no longer for sale.
Thank you Isis for all that you have done for us!!!!
Description
Isla is one of those special girls that defines your breeding program and is the result of real planning on Lori's part. When we first saw Isla's Dam, Isis; we knew we had to have her to breed to our Captain Jack Sparrow. They were the perfect match and we would repeat the breeding numberous times over the next several years.
Although not for sale at the moment, we do want you to know what we are working on for the future - and this is the future!
More to come.......Update: Isla's fleece continues her legacy in 2014. Two more Championships, including the Championship at the 2014 World Fleece Show!
Update, 2 more Reserve Championships in 2015 Fleece Shows....
Update, Color Champion Brown Fleece at the 2016 MAPACA Jubilee Fleece Show - AT THE AGE OF 5!!!!
After many trials and tribulations, Isla has finally given us a cria. This young boy was worth the wait we believe. Denali was born while we were away in Alaska visiting the splendor of the former Mt. McKinley. Although he was off to a rough start, we are please to say that he has come around and is looking quite nice. Please check out KCF Denali's page to see his achievements and you will see that our first impressions were spot on - this boy is a star!!
Isla has now been rebred to our STF Skywalker for a summer of 2019 baby and we are already looking forward to another jawdropper.... Update - boy did we get it!! The light fawn boy just glows!! His name is KCF Obi Wan and he sold off the farm rather quickly....
Isla's 2020 cria from our Snowmass Best in Velvet breeding is now on the farm, and gulp...., we are going with KCF Crushed Velvet as his name. Because, indeed, Velvet crushed it on this combo. Out of the box, Crushed has won his first few banners is is on his way to a well deserved role as a top herdsire either here at KCF or your place....
