Bogart could challenge any young stud head to head for histogram results. After 18 years, his longevity is exemplary with his 2019 histogram at 22 AFD and an SD of 4.0 and CV of 17. Bogart is the direct descendant and on of Sire MSA Hemingway G171.
We are very proud to have added this Hemingway son, to our small but genetically mighty white alpacas. Bogie is renowned for his remarkable, and extremely rare, combination of flawless fine fleece, genetic superiority and flawless fineness sustained thus far to the end of his second decade. He passed all this fleece trait production to his offspring.
Compare Bogie to any male alpaca in AOA's EPD database and you will find he is superior to over 99% of all other for longevity of fineness and uniformity. Not only is Bogie superior, but because of his longevity as a herdsire, his accuracy values for each EPD trait is the highest in the database. Dam: Arapaho Prodigy Pheromone ARI#
31117067 Beige Pheromone (Pheri) is another daughter of lilhummer who has contributed significant improvement in our herd with the right breeding. Pheri had her first cria in 2011 from Arapaho Snow Cloud. Her 2012 cria is out of Quechua Contender. We have several offspring from Contender and breed back to him because of his EPDs and what he produces. Pheri breeds easily, has uneventful births, produces ample milk and is a great mother. She is currently bred to MSA Hemingway's Bogart. This sales price is outstanding given Bogart's usual breeding fee is $2500. We will certainly consider Pheromone in a package sale.
Pheromone's recent offspring Contender's Prodigy was evaluated by Dale Davis and characterized his fleece as the best on the ranch. This 2012 offspring took fourth place at I.A.O. in both halter and walking fleece. He took 2nd place in halter at the California Classic. Pheromone with the right breeding can produce exceptional offspring. She is young, an easy breeder with many years of production. This dam is gentle, easy to handle and an ideal foundation dam. There is nothing about this dam that is appreciated with her genetics, fiber and ability to produce offspring of high quality.
Pheri will come bred to Macchu Picchu. This sale price is truly a bargain given Prophecy's EPDs and breeding value is over this sale price. Pheri's EPD for staple length is well above the national average and certainly her breeding strength. She will be bred to Prophecy who will produce much improved fineness and all fiber traits associated with fineness. Pheri will contribute her genetic improvement in staple length and fiber weight to the 2015 cria.

Description
This is a promising young male. Yes, he is only a yearling and sheared 9.2 pounds of fiber, but he could be used as a premier fiber male as a result of his father genetics. Or, he would make a stud for small breeder. You can buy this boy for a fair price given his young age for either uses. We will guarantee his ability to breed and potency with his purchase. This boy is covered in fiber from head to toe, the quality of fiber is exceptional. His EPDs are improved over the national norm for most traits, but he does have an outstanding EPD for staple length and fiber weight, both incredibly important fiber traits. For those farms who do not depend on EPDs he would make a great herdsire given his father's notorious density, fineness and longevity of fineness. His mother has produced incredible offspring with gorgeous fiber, but she does not produce the EPDs we include in our pricing strategy. In other words, he could make any ranch a great herdsire. Pharoah's testicles are quite large, and when shown as a juvenile, judges commented on their size. Pheromone, his dam, definitely produces males with this added quality.
Pharoah has some of the most beautiful fiber on the ranch. Pharoah's histogram is also super. His AFD for 2014 is 21 with SL at 98, and comfort factor of 95%. All more than respectable fiber statistics. His fiber coverage is absolute, his fiber is fine and crimpy with gorgeous sheen, architecture and bundling. His phenotype is beautiful and his conformation is nearly square. His bite is perfect and so he truly has it all in his phenotype and genetics. All EPD fiber trait values are well improved over the national herd. He will definitely improve his offspring in every fiber character traits. Pharoah simply does not have the world class EPD's that we would promote for offspring improvement in one generation.
